RESPINOR AS, is a Norwegian medical device company developing a breakthrough technology within respiratory care. The company was founded in 2015. RESPINOR is developing an objective measure of breathing for critically ill patients within intensive care. The technology provides practitioners with precise continuous and real-time information of the diaphragm function, to increase quality of care and reducing costs. RESPINOR DXT (Diaphragm Excursion Technology) consists of two disposable sensors that we attach to the body, and a separate monitor. We use patented ultrasound to monitor the movement of the diaphragm, our main breathing muscle, using the liver as a proxy. We translate the diaphragm movement into readable signal, like with an ECG.
